🎯Agenda: Retail and institutional adoption, RWA, stablecoins, payments, DeSci, and AI in Web3
📝 Overview: Web3 Festival Hong Kong 2025 was larger than last year, but the atmosphere felt calmer. With national holidays and market conditions affecting the energy, the upside was more room for real conversations and quality meetings.
We came to meet both local and global players, and it delivered. Despite a softer energy overall, we had some of our most meaningful conversations of the season. From family offices like Amber, Black Pine Group, LTP, Hashkey, and Avenir to institutions like BlackRock, Anchorage Digital, and UBS, the level of interest and alignment around real trends was strong.
The event felt more retail-driven this year, which brought a different kind of energy, but one that’s useful when looking at sentiment, user focus, and adoption readiness.
Bigger crowd, but lower energy – The event was larger than last year, but quieter - possibly due to the timing during national holidays and current market fatigue.
Retail showed up in force - Most attendees were individuals, not teams or institutions, which helped shift the tone away from pitch decks and toward actual product discussions.
Tron has major pull in Asia - Justin Sun drew the biggest crowds. Tron clearly has a deep presence in this region.
Ethereum still commands attention - Vitalik’s audience matched Sun’s, proving ETH’s narrative still holds, even in a quieter cycle.
RWA, stablecoins, DeSci, payments, and AI - These were the key recurring themes across conversations, and they match the direction we’re already heading.
Institutions are still long ETH - Despite retail fatigue, institutional conviction around Ethereum is solid and long-term oriented.
Less chaos, more value - Fewer side distractions made it easier to have meaningful 1:1s and deep dives with founders and allocators.
This wasn’t a hype-driven event, it was the kind where the signal came through clearly. We saw retail energy come back, paired with institutional seriousness around RWA, payments, and Ethereum infrastructure.
While some narratives like restaking weren’t hot topics here, the focus on stable, real-world adoption and payment systems was strong.
For us, that means one thing: capital is moving into projects that can deliver usable products, not just technical complexity.
Web3 Festival 2025 showed us that even in a slower market, strong ideas and aligned capital are out there. The crowd might have been more retail than institutional, but the conversations we had with major players prove one thing: there’s conviction behind the scenes, and the next wave is going to be led by teams building around real-world value - RWA, AI, payments, and infrastructure that actually works.
Open to new ideas and collaborations
